What Is an Intervention?

Do you have a loved one who is addicted to drugs, alcohol, gambling, or smoking? An intervention program could help your loved one escape the grips of denial, rationalization, and projection.

An intervention is an orchestrated attempt by family and friends to get a family member, friend, or loved one to seek help for an addiction or other similar problems. When one has tried everything possible to inspire or convince their loved one that they need help, but they will not admit into a program, an addiction intervention program is a successful tool in helping you help your loved one escape from the grips of denial, rationalization and projection.

By approaching them from a place of love and compassion, with help facilitated by a addiction interventionist, you will be helping them understand the problem that they have and that a treatment program is needed. Using a professional interventionist will not only ensure that you have taken the appropriate approach, but will also give you peace of mind knowing that you have expressed your love and concern in a professional, impacting, and very effective manner.

Addiction Intervention Process

  1. My mother has been addicted to heroin, meth, xanax, anything to get her high. I’m 23 and my brother is 26/27. She’s been addicted for years and has owed me and my brother money. Well over $200. She’s in Texas and we are in Georgia with my dad. We can’t deal with this in a healthy way because of how awful it is and what she has put her own family through. Her mom and dad struggle financially and her own brother is in jail and has taken money that was supposed to go towards his books. Her boyfriend is not helping. He has made her fall hard and has kept her into it and has even prostituted her for money for drugs. We’re tired and sad and need help. It’s our story.

  2. My son is 35 years old. Deaf since birth and has a defibrillator because of heart condition since birth. His girlfriend that he lived with in my house of 2 years left him last year for a friend of his. He has been snorting ice meth since then. He is getting out of control. He doesn’t take heart meds, sleep, or eat. He only weighs maybe 90 lbs. He fights with me, hurts me, and thinks he’s still talking to his girlfriend. Pls help! Cops won’t help!

  3. How does my son and our family get on the show in order to get the treatment process started? My son has been addicted to crack most of his adult life.
He’s now 31. His live in hard working, enabling girlfriend of 11-12 years has had enough of his not wanting to get treated. She is not a meth user but drinks and smokes weed. My son is delusional. He’s not a harden Criminal be cause of his fear Of being locked up. but is a petty criminal. We does not have the desire to even want to get off of it with treatment. If he feels threatened he’ll genuinely loose his girlfriend who’s been taking care of him, then he’ll make a short temporary attempt just to get her back and off his back. He’ll die and or will be mentally insane. I believe that has already started. I’m not financially able to assist with fees for a Center, especially one that has the knowledge to treat his particular drug addiction. As we know their not all the same. Years ago he was court ordered and it was short stay treating opioids, weed, and alcohol…not crack. It was fruitless. If you’re still filming the show and can/would help my son, It would be our only chance in the 14-15 years he’s been addicted to get treated and a chance at life. all I know is we’re desperate. If you’re

from the show and would like to reach me please respond to Dominic’s Ma

  8. I’m desperately asking for help. My daughter is a meth addict plus God only knows what else. I tried helping her so she can keep her kids ; however I can’t handle her mood swings and anger. I have her son and my other Daughter has her daughter. I feared for along time that she would overdose. But now that she no longer has her children my fear is even greater. My trying to get her help only backfired on me and instead she was put out on the streets. Her mind games with her depression is threw the roof. I don’t know where else to go or what to do. She was so beautiful but the last time I seen her she was extremely skinny, gray skin toned( naturally she has a tan olive complexion), and swores all over her face. I think we don’t have much time left. Im desperately pleading for help. My daughter is 31 years old but looks older than me at 54. Please help us help her. Her name is Santana Villegas. She has 2 kids who need her.
